Invoicing a family that uses Kinbox

Some of the families you support self-manage their NDIS plan with Kinbox. Nothing changes about the work or your rates. Only where the invoice goes.

Their address looks like this

A squared stack of blank white invoices held by one steel bulldog clip, casting a long shadow.

Three steps

  1. 1

Send your invoice to the family's Kinbox address.

The family gives it to you once, and it doesn't change. Send it the way you send invoices now, from your own email or your invoicing software.

  2. 2

    Put these on every invoice.

Your ABN, an invoice number, the name of the person supported, the dates of the support, what the support was, and your BSB and account number.

  3. 3

    Get paid, and a remittance.

The family checks and pays once a week, from their own bank. You get an email with the amount, the invoice and the date for every payment.

A remittance, every time

When the family marks you paid, you get an email with the amount, the invoice and the date. Keep it as your remittance.

The family sends the money from their own bank. Kinbox prepares the pay list and never holds or moves money.

Remittance from the Smith family.

The Smith family has paid your invoice. Keep this email as your remittance.

Good to know

Do I need an account?
No. There's nothing to sign up to and nothing to install. You email the invoice to the family's address.
My bank details are changing.
Tell the family before you send the next invoice. Kinbox flags any change, and the family checks it with you by phone before they pay. A change like this is how invoice fraud usually starts, so expect the call.
A payment hasn't arrived.
Ask the family first: they approve and send every payment. Kinbox doesn't hold or move money, so it can't send or chase a payment.
Something about Kinbox itself.
Use the form on the pilot page and choose "A provider".
